Divorce Care for Teens (DC4Teens)
When parents are going through a separation or divorce, it can be difficult for teenagers to manage or even understand their own wide range of emotions. Often teens don’t feel others will understand their new reality and sometimes even feel they are the cause of it. Meeting other teens whose parents are separated or divorcing offers comfort and provides a safe place to open up and find that they are not alone. Learning practical ways to love both parents while not getting stuck in between them, can be very valuable in helping that teen cope with the family turmoil.
Divorce Care for Teens is held in a group format often with experienced facilitators who understand firsthand the pain of a parent’s divorce.
A parent must be attending the adult session of DivorceCare for the teen to attend this group. Childcare is also available for kids 5 and under.
DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K)
DivorceCare for Kids provides a safe, fun place where your children will learn to understand their feelings, express their emotions appropriately, feel better about themselves, and develop coping skills. Overall it provides hope, help, and healing through a tough time in the child’s life.
At our weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who authentically understand how they feel and the things they are going through because of the divorce of their parents.
DC4K groups blend games, music, stories, videos, and discussion to help kids process the divorce, realize it is not their fault, and move forward. Best of all, children will learn how God’s love can strengthen them and help turn tears to hope and joy!
A parent must be attending the adult session of DivorceCare for the child(ren) to attend. Childcare is also available for kids 5 and under.
